An operational tool for the fine-scale mapping of the incident solar radiation using satellite images: the Heliosat station
Résumé
An operational tool for the fine-scale mapping of the incident solar radiation is presented. It makes use of meteorological satellite images to produce accurate maps of global radiation. Satellite data are directly received by a cheap HF receiver and processed into a personal computer IBM-PC, usin the already known Heliosat method. The first prototype was realised in 1985. Now a Heliosat station is routinely operated by Agence Française pour la Maîtrise de l'Energie since January 1987.
